Here is the second volume of Le boom boom ! When i put the first volume online about two weeks ago i didn't expect such an interest into these long lost french sixties artifacts, but more than 25 comments and 400 downloads later (up to this day), i must admit that this interest is real.
You already know what you will find inside these folders, you'll find more Twist, more Hully Gully, one Madison/Twist and something that was taken out of the first sampler, The Surf.
In addition to some really good James Award orchestra tracks (check "Transcontinental" or "Tanganyka Twist" and tell if there are not prime examples of early sixties Shake/beat at its best) and what i suspect to be James Award orchestra in disguise (Pat Field 's excellent "Cincinnati Twist"), you will find tracks by some famous names like Eddie Warner (IM Library label headmaster), Claude Bolling or Jean-Claude Pelletier.
I have also decided to include in this "45rpm only" compilation, three tracks from an LP that was released in 1962 on a big label known worldwide as RCA Victor. Why ? Because we are talking about three killer tracks composed and recorded by someone whose records are gaining a growing attention, his name, Armand Migiani and his "Migiani Grand Orchestre".
I hope you will like this one and as usual, high resolution cover scans of all the records i used to make this sampler are included in the folder..
Here is the tracklisting

I was just telling someone... Volume 2 might be even more fantastic than Volume 1, and both are infinitely superior to the "Dou da Dou" sampler that Vadim issued in '05.
this stuff is in another league
really enjoyed looking through all of the cover scans, too

Greetings
Volume One got TWO spins on my NC-to-GA roadtrip this past weekend. I'll be listening to VOL. TWO, you can be sure! Merci beaucoup, mon ami!

http://soundofthepast.blogspot.com
Keep your good work up !
sorry for the lack of answer for the last few days but i was away from my computer. First, thanks for all the comments, i'm really glad that you like these samplers, i had no idea there would have been such an interest in these recordings.
To Litlgrey, the "Dou da dou" sampler was more late sixties/early seventies oriented and can't really be compared to "Le boom boom !", but thanks for the compliment anyway.
Agent double-o-soul, j'utilise principalement Photoshop et Illustrator, je pourrais te fournir plus de détails sur la manière dont je procède si tu m'envoie un mail à l'adresse du blog.
an outstanding job! these are wonderful compilations. thanks!
Ta ...very enjoyable
Encore un grand coup de chapeau l'ami ! Je peut te dire que les cd on chauffés dans l'auto radio pendant les vacances! Pour tout te dire mes beaux parents m'on piqué tes compils !!!! Je suis bon pour un re-gravage !!!
A bientot !
Je suis très impressionné par la qualité de ta compil. Quel boulot !!!
Grand merci whoops.
you said: "Once again i had to split the original 130mo folder in two because of Rapidshare upload limit."
fair enough, thanks and thanks a million times but i hope you wont take me for wrong if i ask you, why do you persist on uploading stuff through rapidshare??? its pretty crap for downloading (have to wait around an hour in-between downloads) and by the looks of it its pretty crap for uploading stuff too. wots wrong with everyone??
i mean, everyone seems to be using rapidshare. what about www.freeaspupload.com or www.uploading.com , and i mean if u really tend to upload files frequently, just switch from one site to another. makes it easier for the rest of us poor bloggers. and once again, THANKS FOR THE MUSIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing
Votre compilation est ab-so-lu-ment géniale !
Je vous ajoute sur mon site !
Amitiés,
Natasha
